Profile :: I am an economist and my research tends to be applying econometrics to look at various issues in the field of economic development in Africa. I have recently submitted my thesis to the Department of Economics and International Development at the University of Bath where I spent 3 years completing a PhD and teaching economics at undergraduate level. My research at Bath was microeconometric in nature and focused on the impact of remittances in rural Malawi. A summary of my thesis can be found here. In addition, I have worked on business investment in Africa, intra-household bargaining, and subjective wellbeing in Africa. I have also undertaken several short consultancies including project evaluation work in rural Africa. More details on my research and publications are available on the Research pages. I am currently an ODI fellow working for the Macroeconomic Policy and Management Department of the Mininisty of Finance and Development Planning in Lesotho. |
